  • Level editor and an easy way for players to share levels and compete on leaderboards for their shared levels

About

Created in 48 hours as part of the GMTK Game Jam 2023. The theme was ‘Roles Reversed’.

Keywarn - Technical

Ipidoo - Art and Design

Special Thanks

  • Mark/GMTK - for hosting the jam and his awesome Platformer Toolkit
  • TaroDev - The excellent Timetrial Ghosts package that we used as a base
  • Danial Jumagaliyev - Whose Leaderboard Creator allowed us to make the game possible in the game jam period
  • cabled_mess - Distorted shift world audio (CC0 1.0)
  • Wax_vibe - Cyberpunk base audio (CC0 1.0)
  • Levi Kuskie - Trailer audio
  • The players who played the initial Game Jam build. Sadly the mechanics, level and backend have all changed since so we have had to reset the leaderboards. Here are the top 6 times:

I got second place....

No idea how it happened but the timer did not start until I ran past the red checkpoint, letting me get a time of 2 seconds.

Yep it appears we have a bit of a bug in the timing code. We’re working on fixing it for the upcoming steam demo. Congrats on second place I guess!

I had a better time before but I messed up when trying to catch myself

Nice! That’s a big improvement! If you’d like to help us test future versions and get updates you should join the discord, the link is above

We are equally impressed/curious! Glad to hear you’re enjoying the game. We hope to have some more updates/info soon!

I didn't hit the leaderboard, but it was a fun run.

Thanks for checking out our game!

How did yall cut the record down so much

With the latest updates you can slide down ramps to go faster,  it’s made the level faster overall

Guess who just beated the world record?

👀 Guess some other people have some catching up to do!

hey! it's working now... I don't know what I did different.

Hi, I think it might be that it won’t automatically focus the input box, have you tried clicking into the input field?

sure did... maybe it's my chromebook.. I'll try the windows version

Potentially, we’ve not had any other reports of issues with getting past the screen. If it happens again on windows we can try to dig a bit deeper into what is going on

I played for 30 munites straight and got the 3rd place on the liderboard. I might go for the first place :D Great game

Glad you like it! Some impressive speed running!

This was really fun, leaderboard was a nice touch! I felt like the slides were a tad too punishing when you were just starting out and felt a bit too halting, but when you slide at faster speeds it feels much more satisfying! I understand getting halted could be a way to punish players for messing up, however I wonder if a slightly thinner character collision and more parts where you can build up speed before slowing sections (like alto's adventure) could help increase overall fun by having more moments of 'reward' interspaced throughout. Not a requirement though, just a little suggestion! The art style was excellent, I love the player sprites and the twist!

Thanks for the feedback, it’s super useful! I think we definitely need some tweaking but super happy you enjoyed it overall

I really like the momentum based movement, and how it punishes you if you f up the jump

Thanks for playing and glad you like it! Perhaps a little bit too punishing?
